Social Media

Idea:
No longer do companies talk and customers passively listen. Harnessed to the enormous reach and depth of the Web, inexpensive or free social media tools like blogs, forums, podcasts, wikis and social communities have given consumers a global soapbox and with it the potential to make or break reputations, enhance or damage brands, create winners and losers in the marketplace, and do so with lightning speed.

Approach:
One clear trend is that consumers lean on their peers for advice in making buying decisions. Social media plays a large role in the origination and distribution of advice among peers. The impact of social media is not going away, and it is effecting financial institutions whether they’re actively participating in it or not. MDC is ready to help by developing a universal social media strategy to help:

  • ensure our credit unions stay on top of their brands and messaging
  • influence buying decisions surrounding financial products and services
